WiFi File Explorer on Android HTC HD2

WiFi File Explorer is the best part of the software that allows you to manage photos, music, videos from your mobile phone via a wireless network from your computer.

The purpose of this application is to save you the hassle of retrieving data from your phone, or plug the cable into your computer. Why should you bother with that when there is little software that does it without a big difficulty.

I must say that I chose the free version. Pro version offers no advertisements within the application, as well as providing the ability to upload data to and delete data from your phone. The free version has ads and only allows downloading of data from your phone to your computer.

Underlying operating WiFi File Explorer is simple, yet very clever. The launch of this program will start a daemon process on your phone is listening incoming connections on a predefined network port which opens to the transfer. Once the application starts and the daemon starts running, you can type the telephone network address (which appears in a popup).

Pressing the Back button on your phone will kill the service and close the application. But if you plan to use this application for an extended period of time and want to keep using your phone as usual, pressing the Home button will hide the application window and keep the operation of the daemon in the background, alerting you in a way that small icons on the bar application you are.

Once you are finished using the service just open the File Explorer WiFi again, either through the icon menu, or by pressing tasks running in the notification window drop-down menu. Once back at the screen, just press the Back button instead of the Home button at this time. This will stop the daemon cleanly background and the overall program.

My concern is that running a similar application that allows remote access can often use the same port number or control various kinds, such as 7950-8050, which includes the default port WFE share. Trying to run the File Explorer with other applications such as WiFi can cause unwanted behavior or bad service. So maybe the idea to find a port where you share some other programs use to ensure there would be no conflict. Hopefully Android has a built-in capability to warn the applications they share a port, but better safe than sorry.

The best thing to do would be to go into the settings menu in File Explorer WiFi, it allows you to change the port number where the data is transferred. So if you are worried about the conflict, just change the port to something unusual. I suggest you check out this Wikipedia article on the list of ports and details to help avoid conflict with anything on your network.

The usefulness and advantages for you are for this application is very easy to use and takes a minute at most, to install it. and the interface is very minimalist and everything is handled for you, so there is nothing you need to learn.

Download wifi file explorer for android. It is as simple as click, load, enjoy!
