My guide to running Android on your HTC HD2. It is easier than you think and pretty stable too.
Before we get started, this guide only applies to running Android on the HTC HD2 (mine is the T mobile version) and I do not take responsibility if you break your phone (though I think the only risky step in this process is flashing a new Radio ROM).
1. Making Sure you have the correct Radio
The Radio ROM in firmware on your phone that is responsible for cellular and wireless operations. Android is only compatible with certain radio ROM versions. To see your radio version go to: Settings > About phone > Software information.
Android is compatible with radio versions 2.08.50 to 2.12.50 and it must be a 2.**.50 version not a 2.**.51 version. Flashing radios.
2. Picking an Android build
I recommend FroyoStone, it is an Android 2.2(Froyo) build with HTC Sense. Download at gamesquare.co.uk/froyostone.htm. There are other builds available, use Google.
3. Putting Android on your phone
Extract the build that you downloaded and copy the Android folder to your device's SD card.
4. Ring-tones and system sounds
Some Android builds do not come with media (alarm sounds, system sounds and ring-tones). You'll need to make sure there is folder called 'media' in root of your SD card, the media files are available at http://gamesquare.co.uk/media.zip (copy the link to your address bar as game square doesn't support hot-linking).
5. Booting up Android for the first time
To boot up Android you'll need to navigate to the Android folder on your SD card via file explorer in Windows Mobile.
First run CLRCAD.exe then run Haret.exe and wait a few minutes, if this works you should be greeted with Android, if it gets stuck simply take the battery out of your phone and put it back in, switch on and you'll be back in Windows.
Tadaaaaaa.....
You will see one of the froyo stone wallpaper.
